Sold Out

The logo up above of the American Flag shows that I served this country; the lunch box and the hardhat shows that I am a working man; and the smoke stacks in the background shows our industry fading away.

That is exactly what has happened. Our industry has left or been traded away at the expense of the American people. Work has gone over seas with NAFTA or GATT but will the American people finally realize what has happened to their Great Country?

I also think that we are now in what is nothing more than an inverted pyramid. What was once the top of the pinnacle is now trickled down to nothing at the bottom. It seems that the only solution that our Government can offer us for work is flipping burgers at McDonalds and increasing the minimum wage, and I believe that there has got to be a better way.

In my area alone most of the industry is gone. Take the average Steelworker making $75,000.00 a year and the loss of 150,000 jobs. That equates to $11 billion 250 million in revenues and that is just in the area that I live in alone. Since 2001 we have lost 5.1 million Steel Jobs. I believe it is time that we stand up for the American Workers and American Manufacturing. Because it is vital to our Economic and National Security.

Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufactures. Every Nation… ought to endeavor to possess within itself all the essentials of national supply. These comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense. Report on Manufactures, 1791 Alexander Hamilton Secretary of the Treasury
